Hy Readers, Hope you were good. In this article we fix an issue of ntfs partition. Which is occur when we use dual boot OS or if we install Linux on a previously Windows system. Let's go...

First of all, I'll show you what is the exact issue.

So, you can see in the above image I can't create or paste. And below image can help to understand my partitions also you can see your NTFS partition here.

Without wasting any time go for how to solve it.

  • Open Terminal and Go for Super user by Typing sudo su.
  • It'll ask for your password. Enter your password.
  • After that, You need to check your Disk list. so type fdisk -l

  • The above image, it'll display a list of my all disks and also a list of their partition. First is my SSD where I installed UBUNTU and the Second one is HDD where I installed WINDOWS 10.
  • SSD disk name is sda & HDD disk name is sdb. Varify with your disk.
  • I have 3 partition in my HDD which is NTFS.[sdb1, sdb2, sdb3]
  • If you can't understand your NTFS partition. You can go with GUI. (Please Check the above image of the Disk list from Disks Software)
  • Now, we use ntfsfix command for fix our issue.

  • ntfsfix command will work with disk partition name. You can see the above image, I wrote the partition name with it. You need to write your partition name.
  • You got a message of Process Success.
  • After that, You need to unmount your disk if you have mounted it & then check it.

That't it. Now we can use our disk partition as normal. I hope you find an awesome article for your query and enjoyed it. let me know if you have any doubts about the above article.
