Hy Readers, Hope you were good. In this article we fix an issue of ntfs partition. Which is occur when we use dual boot OS or if we install Linux on a previously Windows system. Let's go...
First of all, I'll show you what is the exact issue.
So, you can see in the above image I can't create or paste. And below image can help to understand my partitions also you can see your NTFS partition here.
Without wasting any time go for how to solve it.
- Open Terminal and Go for Super user by Typing
sudo su
. - It'll ask for your password. Enter your password.
- After that, You need to check your Disk list. so type
fdisk -l
- The above image, it'll display a list of my all disks and also a list of their partition. First is my SSD where I installed UBUNTU and the Second one is HDD where I installed WINDOWS 10.
- SSD disk name is sda & HDD disk name is sdb. Varify with your disk.
- I have 3 partition in my HDD which is NTFS.[sdb1, sdb2, sdb3]
- If you can't understand your NTFS partition. You can go with GUI. (Please Check the above image of the Disk list from Disks Software)
- Now, we use
ntfsfix
command for fix our issue.
- ntfsfix command will work with disk partition name. You can see the above image, I wrote the partition name with it. You need to write your partition name.
- You got a message of Process Success.
- After that, You need to unmount your disk if you have mounted it & then check it.
